Currency Bird Partners with Ripple in Chile

Ripple have signed a deal with Chilean fintech Currency Bird to enhance their transfer network. Currency Bird is a start up from Santiago that specialises in remittance.

The move from Ripple follows their recent buy-in to MoneyGram in June. The RippleNet is used by a range of banking and remittance services to facilitate fast, cheap, and reliable international money transfers.

Currency Bird currently has 12,000 customers in their network. By partnering with Ripple and using the XRP cryptocurrency, they have opened up the market to fifty new countries.

South American expansion seems to have been on the cards recently for Ripple. June saw the company open an office in Brazil and they already partner with Santander Brazil, BeeTech GLobal, and Banco Rendimento.
