India's Biggest Blockchain Festival Begins
India Dapp Fest is the first international blockchain and cryptocurrency conference in India, Organised by Blockchained India. The festival will see hackathons, workshops and international as well as local speakers.
India Dapp Fest launched yesterday, 11th June, the first international blockchain and cryptocurrency conference in India. Organised by Blockchained India, a group of Indian blockchain enthusiasts, the festival will see hackathons, workshops and international as well as local speakers.
The gathering is billed as a festival of blockchain and is being held in Bengaluru. The city is at the heart of the Indian technology scene and was named the World’s Most Dynamic City in 2017.
Speakers at the India Dapp Festival include Jaspreet Bindra, for Senior Vice President at Mahindra Group and the founder of Digital Matters. His inclusion in the line up, along with other stellar speakers in the realm of blockchain in India and the rest of the world, shows the importance of this festival.
Akshay Aggarwal, co-founder and national head of Blockchained India said, “We are looking at around 1,000 people participating in the five days; most of them will be developers and the rest will be the ones who will help take the developers to the next level.”
Blockchain in India is facing a rocky future, with a recent proposal from the national government to effectively ban cryptocurrency trading.
